PROFILE :

In the wake of growing demand for technically trained girls in certain specialized field such as Architecture, Electronics, Garments, Secretarial Technologies it was being contemplated for quite some time past to establish an Institute for imparting technical education and training among the girls disciples. So that the demand of Industry could be met effectively and side by side with the male students the girls may also have opportunities of acquiring technical education. It was these aims in view that Government of Pakistan (Ministry of Women Development) and Sindh Government jointly established the first Polytechnic Institute for Women at Super market Liaquatabad, Karachi in the year 1981, which has now successfully completed 15 years. To begin with, three years post matric diploma courses in electronics and garment technologies were introduced and as a step further towards the achievement of noble objectives of its establishment Architecture Technology was introduced in 1982 and Secretarial Technology in 1986.

Principal's message:
Today's need is involving all available human resource for the development of country. Our 50% female population which remained out of active developmental work is now associated with the technical activities in nearly all walk of life.technical institute for female have played a very important role in this aspect.training girl in the fields of architecture,electronics,garments & secretarial and making them capable to undertake technical assignment in the active field work is goal of this institute and now in addition,the institute is striving to educate and involve more female in the computer and I.T related short courses so as to share the benefits available in cyber world.

Promotion of Technical Education, & and there by providing access to better employment and earning, is the aim of Directorate of Technical Education. We are not only extending the boundaries of Technical Education by including new and emerging Technologies like Petroleum, Sugar, Printing & Graphics Computer and Information Technology but also striving to strengthen the available Technologies through provision of material resources and development of Teaching learning resources.

FACULTY :

All the teaching staff is qualified in highly trained to mold the minds of the students into an expert in their fields as well as good human beings. The Institute has also been endeavoring to further enhance the teaching capability of the staff through teachers' training program, workshops and Seminars.

In addition to academic activities the extra curricular activities are given due importance as they play an important part in the character building. In this connection sports week are held yearly under the guidance of sports incharge and, National Occasions are celebrated under the supervision of faculty sponsor.
